Troegs Brewery Tour

This past week, Craft Beer Critics had the opportunity to tour Troegs Brewery and sample most of their beers. We got off to a bad start, as we thought the brewery was still located in Harrisburg, PA. While the Troegs Beer signage is still present on the building, the smell of hops is definitely not. Turns out they moved to Hershey, PA without telling us. Off to Hershey we went, in search of some Pennsylvania craft beer. We took the self guided tour of the brewery, which turned out to be quite informative on the process of crafting Troegs Beer. Guided tours are only available at certain times throughout the day. It was in the tasting room where things went from good to great. The catalyst for this transformation was our server named Tim (we think that’s his name…here is his Twitter handle). Tim was passionate, informative and enthusiastic about Troegs (Perpetual IPA is his favorite). Between all of us, we must have tasted nearly every beer Troegs has to offer. We are not going to review each beer we drank, but there was a common theme among all the beers. It was evident that they were all crafted with an extremely high level of quality and care, and each had a very unique twist. The IPA wasn’t similar to any other IPA we have had. The same can be said about the Dream Weaver WheatHop Back Amber and Sunshine Pils. Overall, we had a great experience and we would definitely recommend a trip out to Hershey, PA!
