Randall The Enamel Animal
By: Mike Schafer
Taking inspiration from Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head Brewery and his invention, Randall the Enamel Animal, I contacted CBC’s friend Owen Johnston from HPA or Hops Product Australia to test out a homebrew version of Randall. I used a double walled tea glass for the new Enigma Hop Pellets hops and poured Southern Tier IPA into it. The results were as follows: the taste was definitely enriched with a good mouth feel of the fragrant and bitter hops. I only let the beer sit for about 2 minutes before pouring into another cup, but the results were pretty good. My only complaint was that the beer doesn’t hold its carbonation pour to pour, but I suppose that’s the way the game is played.
