Otter Creek Black IPA
By: Craft Beer Deer
First Impressions: This beer was enjoyed on tap and I never got a chance to see the bottle while I was drinking the beer. I did some research and found the bottle to be very plain and unattractive. Otter Creek Brewery is located in Middlebury, VT and is right near Vermont’s original marble quarries. I would highly recommend a trip out to Middlebury, VT for that specific reason.
Pour: Well it is a Black IPA, so it shouldn’t shock anyone that this beer is black in color. The tan colored head complements the dark beer perfectly.
Taste: My fondness of Black IPA’s surpasses that of any other type of craft beer out there. This one has a near-perfect balance of the hoppiness found in a classic IPA, and the darker tastes of chocolate and coffee. Otter Creeks Black IPA is a punch packing brew that goes down surprisingly smooth.
