Avery’s Old Jubilation Ale

By: Katie Schroepfer

First Impression: The label is typical of an Avery brew, with the well known branding on the bottle and a nice, fancy lettering for the rest of the bottle. Avery beer always catches my eye, so I was eager to try it.

Pour: Of course, the darkness was no surprise. As with most, if not all, holiday beers, they all will have that dark hue to it coupled with a nice, full head.

Taste: This wasn’t the best beer I’ve tasted of Avery’s, mainly because the flavor just isn’t the kind that I typically like in beers. However, I know it’s a popular one among many people. The blend of five malts makes it a bit too much for me.

Grade: B

ABV: 8.3%

IBU: 45
