Anderson Valley Winter Solstice

By: Katie Schroepfer

First Impression: I honestly wasn’t too excited about this beer because the can looked super bland. With the can being completely red and with a moose on it, it just wasn’t that intriguing to me. However, I’m a firm believer that you don’t judge a book by its cover, so I proceeded with it anyways.

Pour: The pour was average, nothing spectacular, not a great amount of head but just enough for a seasonal beer. As for the aroma, it was full of spices but settled down after the pour and wasn’t very strong afterwards.

Taste: This beer had a different taste to it. I can’t say it was bland, it was packed full of flavor that you would expect for a winter day, but it didn’t stand out too much. I don’t think I would get this beer again, but it was still worth trying and obviously good enough to review. It has a darker, spicy taste to it with not too much sweetness to bring to the table. Overall, it’s an average beer.
